An electronic viewfinder means composing pictures in bright light is not a problem and again gives you that DSLR-like handling.

As well as impressive stills, you can shoot Full HD at 60p – handheld shooting is again helped by Dual Pixel CMOS AF and 5-axis move IS.

Why buy the PowerShot G1 X Mark III?

PowerShot G5 X Mark II

The G5 X Mark II is more of an all-rounder. Blending performance with portability, it comes as a smaller, more compact body than the G1 X Mark III and features a 5x zoom lens, a pop-up Electronic Viewfinder.

A flip up screen means you can use this for selfies or vlogging, with both 4K and Full HD video options.

The G5 X Mark II features a 20.1MP 1 inch CMOS sensor with a 24-120mm (in 35mm equivalent terms) F1.2-F2.8 lens which gives a lot of versatility.

G7 X Mark III

A firm favourite with vloggers due to its compact size, versatility and features – including built-in live streaming. The G7 X Mark III is small and light with much more of a focus on video and features designed with vloggers in mind such as built-in live streaming capabilities.

Like the G5 X Mark II, it features a 20.1MP 1 inch CMOS sensor and powerful processor. It can shoot in 4K / 25p and Full HD at up to 120p. The G7 X Mark III has a slightly shorter lens, with only 4.2x zoom or a 24-100mm in 35mm equivalent terms. For most people looking at this model, this won’t be a problem.

The G7 X Mark III does not feature an electronic viewfinder and instead relies on the monitor. This is a vari-angle monitor which flips up so you can easily vlog or take selfies.

Where the G7 X Mark III stands out is with the inclusion of a microphone input and live YouTube streaming.

 

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III

 

You can stream live to YouTube straight from the camera and you can power the camera over USB (whilst in use). This means you can plug it in to ensure you don’t run out of battery if you’re doing a long live stream. Some gimbals even have features to power the cameras being used on them, so even streaming on the go is an option.

 

Why buy the PowerShot G7 X Mark III?
